Ewan graduated with his medical degree from Aberdeen University in 2013. He undertook his Foundation Training in Aberdeen prior to coming to Tayside for orthopaedic surgical training.

Ewan is the outgoing president of the Tayside Orthopaedic Research Collaborative.
