Ms Nurm has a specialist interest in foot and ankle surgery, encompassing the wide scope of traumatic and chronic conditions affecting the foot and ankle. She is fellowship trained in this subspecialist area, and has published and presented on various topics in the field. She also offers general orthopaedic trauma care.

Ms Nurm takes a very active role in orthopaedic training and is involved with managing the registrar training in the East of Scotland deanery.
