Mr Nicol is a Consultant in Orthopaedics with specialist interests in hip and knee replacement surgery, as well as hip joint preservation surgery. Mr Nicol also offers revision arthroplasty and general orthopaedic trauma care.

Mr. Nicol is one of a small group of fellowship trained surgeons in the UK who is trained to perform hip replacements through a direct anterior approach. Mr Nicol also offers hip arthroscopy to address a number of conditions.

Mr Nicol completed two and a half years international fellowship training programmes in Ottawa, Canada, and Bristol, England. He worked as a Consultant specialising in pelvic trauma and young adult hip pathology in Bristol, prior to returning to Scotland. He is also heavily involved with research and teaching within orthopaedics.
